Kick em Jenny 2 win the day but not the series

SIMPSON BAY— Cry Baby helmed by Pierre Alte won the Diam Trimaran class during the second race day of the January Keelboat Series on Sunday.

A total of thirteen boats competed in three classes of racingin the series organized by the St. Maarten Yacht Club.
Second in Trimarans was Sylvain Corroy on Air Nest and third was Alexis de Boucau on Merlin.
The Trimarans and CSA 1 did two races from Simpson Bay to Great Bay and back.
Eight monohulls sailed in CSA 1. Kick em Jenny 2, the Melges 32, dominated both races and was followed by FKG, helmed by Andrea Scarabelli.
Yet it was Team Island Water World 1 that was the clear and undisputable winner of the class with 12 points, compared to 17 points for Wanna Be in second place. Third place went to Caraibes Diesel.
Both Kick em Jenny 2 and FKG did not race in the first leg of the series, back in December.
“It was superb sailing conditions with lots of shifts and changing wind conditions ranging from 8-16 konts,” said skipper Frits Bus of Team Island Water World 1. “It was a perfect training for the local teams for the upcoming Heineken Regatta.”
The Trimarans are preparing for next weeks Caribbean Multihull Challenge.
In CSA 2 all races were won by Miss Tyknight helmed by Robbie Ferron followed by Jordan Pieterse in Miss Tandfog.
The next race for keelboats and multihulls will be the warmup event for the Heineken Regatta which will be on February 27.
