MLK Primary and Hillside Christian clash for Kiddies Cricket Championship

CUL DE SAC—Martin Luther King Primary and Hillside Christian Primary will face each other in the 2024 Interschool Kiddies Cricket Tournament after contrasting wins in the semi-final on Thursday. Martin Luther King Primary had to fight tooth-and-nail to defend 33 against Seventh-day Adventist Primary.

However, in the second semi-final, Hillside Christian Primary posted a mammoth 115 off 11 overs against Leonald Connor Primary, which they defended well. Leonald Connor reached 41 runs when the overs were completed by the field team. For Hillside Christian, Reshawn Jones hit a brilliant 64 to help his team to the huge total.  In the other match, Browlia F. Maillard Campus defeated Rev. John A. Gumbs Campus by 38 runs. The winners scored 60 off 10 overs, while Rev. John A. Gumbs responded with 24 all out. Josh Hodge of Browlia Maillard shepherded his team with a stroke-filled 52. Today, the winner of the Martin Luther King Primary and Hillside Christian Primary clash will hoist the championship trophy. Seventh-day Adventist and Leonald Connor Primary will play for the third and fourth-place trophy. There will be a presentation after the matches where representatives from Resources for Community Resilience (R4CR) and Cricket St. Maarten will be on hand to distribute the trophies and medals. Outstanding performers for each school will be given a trophy.
