PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten National Basketball Association (SXMNBA) will be kicking off their District Business Basketball Tournament January 14. Each of the competing teams are sponsored by a business in the community.
Managing Director of Motorworld, Tariq Amjad was eager to join the initiative and commends the SXMNBA for organizing such an endeavor.
“Besides making us happier and healthier, sports also contributes in developing strong social bonds within the community. Tournaments like this one provides us with the opportunity to bring our families out for a positive event and socialize and support the island. I think it’s a fantastic idea as well to allow businesses to get on board to make this happen and represent the various districts,” said Amjad.
