Omarco and Duzanson excel in 10K and Half Marathon races

MARIGOT—Omarco Robinson won Sunday’s 18th edition of the 10 K race organized by Avenir Sportif Club. Robinson cruised home first in 36:47 decimating a field of 62 runners. The field included at least 28 female runners from clubs such as Inter Generation Runners and Dream of Trails. The first woman to finish was Murielle Lancien-Paul in 47:04

The Half Marathon race, new for this year, attracted just 25 participants and was won by Maxime Denot in 1:22:55. Steve Duzanson from the Dutch side showed he isn’t slowing up any time soon and still has the magic touch. He finished second, just a minute off the pace, in 1:23: 37. Top Triathlete Gregoire Pigeon was third in 1:24:35. The first woman home was Morgan LerouxTriballier in 1:3223.

The next event for Avenir Sportif Club is the 8th edition of La Saint Martinoise, the popular 100 per cent feminine race on March 7. Organisers are insisting on participants having a medical certificate less than a year old authorizing the participant to take part. Registration is open on the sport-timing-caraibes.com website.
