St. Maarten Little League lights up its new scoreboard for start of the new season

POND ISLAND--The 2023 Little League Baseball and Softball season opened as defending champs Raiders/37ers defeated the Tigers 20 to 5 on Wednesday. Helping the game played at he Erwin "Baco" Richardson Stadium more interesting was the new LED scoreboard lights were turned on for the first time. There was a flash of excitement and cheers that could be heard throughout the stadium. A representative from CC1, Domino's, and the president of the St. Maarten Little League Association were there to turn on the lights. The former scoreboard was damaged by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

Michel Hyman, president of the St. Maarten Little League Association, said, "We are really grateful for the partnership with Domino's and CC1/Coca-Cola for sponsoring the new scoreboard. It takes a village…and some sponsorships…to power quality youth sports programs! This new addition is an investment that raises the quality of the athletic events and activities held on the field. It gives the game a more visual element and shows the score, pitch count, inning, and remaining time, which improves the experience for both players and viewers.”
