St. Maarten represented at CrossFit Guadeloupe

PHILIPSBURG--Eight athletes will represent St. Maarten at the CrossFit competition in Guadeloupe this weekend.

  Making the trip are Vasco Daal, Sandy Offringa, Sjamira Roseberg, Sophia Broere, Gilda Parisot, Quincy Turner, Suzianne Duzong-Davis, Liska Busby and Alan Schet.
  More than 150 athletes both regional and international, are expected to compete in four divisions including Intermediate, Masters, Rx and Elite groupings.
  “CrossFit is a sport designed to improve your overall physical abilities, including your endurance, strength, flexibility, speed, coordination, balance, and more,” said Alan Schet the team leader. “CrossFit workouts typically include a combination of elements from other exercise styles, including high-intensity interval training, gymnastics, weightlifting, calisthenics, powerlifting, and strongman competitions.”
  The athletes train at Colosseumsxm on the AJC Brouwers road 25 in Philipsburg. Colosseumsxm was established in  2018 to provide CrossFit training, Cardio classes, Olympic weightlifting and Personal training.
