JAMAICA --St. Maarten's Carlos Brison who won gold in the 1500-meter finals at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships in Jamaica continued his impressive performance taking bronze in the 800-meter final.  Maggotty High’s Jayden Brown held off a late challenge from the Calabar duo of Brison and Alejandro Palmer to win the Class Three 800 metres at the National Stadium on Saturday. Carlos fell short by less than 3/10 of a second clocking 2:02.10 behind Jaydon Brown's 2:01.85. The ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Championships is globally the biggest track and field event involving high school students. Several of Jamaica’s greatest track-and-field talents, such as Usain Bolt, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Veronica Campbell Brown, made their debut there before achieving international recognition. Brison, age 13, is a member of Dynamics Sporting Club. He was granted a full Scholarship to Calabar High School in Jamaica due to his performance at the 2022 Carifta Games.
