   Team Island Water World sailors’ key players in Symmetrie win in St. Barths Bucket race

ST. BARTHS--Symmetry , a Newport based Frers design superyacht won the Class in the St Barths Bucket, with Team Island Water sailors on key position joining a local group of St Barth sailors and the owners from Newpor .


Berit Bus , Benoit Meesemaecker and Frits Bus switched from helming ,tactics , safety after guard and communication officer to get the Yacht first in the : “L’Esprit de Mer class “ The St . Barth s Bucket is an annual event for the Super Yachts that are racing against each other in different Yacht Clubs around the world.
An annual event that attracts the world top sailors hired by the Yacht owners to steer their yachts to victory . Since there was no racing since 2019 everyone was eager to come out and shake off the cobwebs and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean waters.
Because of the excellent turn out yachts were divided in 6 classes for the superyachts and the wonderful J class In Symmetry ‘s class it was close racing with a second the first day in a stiff breeze of 20-24 knots , just edging out number three in 40 seconds.
The second day the wind increased and a big squall , with winds over 50 knots , where measured caused mayhem by a lot of yachts that had to abandon the racing. Symmetry managed to finish in first only 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher , closest finishing in the classes.
On the third day , the wind predictions were supposed to be lighter, but the race committee measured winds of 30 knots and gusts of 40 knots and after some delay decided to abandon racing.
In the J class the overall winner was Ranger.
