PHILIPSBURG--After six weeks of play two teams remain undefeated in the Interscholastic Primary School Netball Championship at the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium.
In Pool A Hillside Christian has played five games played with out a loss. In Pool B Methodist Agogic Center, JAG, is 6-0.
In the first match of the afternoon Sr. Borgia played Sr. Marie Laurence. Sr. Borgia won 15-0. The score per quarter was Sr. Borgia-Sr. ML 5-0, 10-0, 13-0 and 15-0. For Sr. Borgia GS Kimaya Housen scored 7, GA Kaylee Thomas scored 7 and substitute GS Zephaniah Busropan scored 1 goal.
In the second match Ruby Labega faced off with St. Joseph. St. Joseph won the match 1-0. St. Joseph GA Jannileyris Peterson scored the match point.
Two undefeated teams in Pool B, MAC JAG and SDA went head to head. MAC JAG won 10-2. The quarterly scores were MAC JAG-SDA 2-2, 5-2, 8-2 and 10-2. For JAG GS Ruth Paul scored 4 goal and GA Tyler Timothy scored 6 goals. SDA GS Gelay Justin scored the only two points.
The match between Leonald Connor and MAC BFM was won by Leonald Connor 9-7. The partials per quarter were LC – MAC BFM 2-1, 3-4, 5-4, and the fourth quarter 9-7. LC’s GS Trinitie Bell scored 6 goals and GA Teshagay Bromfield scored 3. For MAC BFM GS Verona Illidge scored 1 goal and GA Jaliayah Philips scored 6 goals.
M.G. de Weever won their match against M. L. King 11-1. The quarterly scores were MLK-MG dE Weever 0-5, 0-6, 1-9 and 1-11. MGdW GS Adriantely Doran, GA Fabrisha George and substitute GS Chenoa Kuyper scored respectively 7, 3 and 1 goals. For MLK Mickaella Brooks scored their only goal.
The last match of the preliminaries was between Sr. Borgia and St. Dominic. Sr. Borgia won the match with the score 13-4. The partials for the match were Sr. Borgia – St. Dominic 3-1, 6-2, 9-3 and 13-4. For Borgia the GS Kaylee Thomas scored 8 goals, GA Zephaniah Busropan 2 and substitute GA Kimaya Housen 3 goals. For St. Dominic GS Aria Sam scored 1 and Makaila Lake scored 3.
After six weeks of play Ruth Paul (MAC JAG) maintains the lead as top scorer with 57 goals, Sina Delice (Hillside Christian) with 53 goals and Ms. Henry, Aljenee (Hillside Christian) in third place with 52 goals, Ms. Tyler Timothy (MAC JAG) with 36 and Kaylee Thomas (Sr. Borgia) 35.
The preliminary’s standing in each pool is as follows:
In Pool A Hillside is undefeated with 25 points followed by Sr. Borgia 21 points, Leonald Connor 17 points, MAC BFM 13, St. Dominic 9 and Sr. Marie Laurence 5 points. Hillside Christian has an 86-points goal differential and outscored their opponents by an average of 17 goals per match.
In pool B the undefeated MAC JAG maintains the lead of the pool with 30 points from 6 games played. Seventh-Day Adventist school ranks second with 26 points, followed by M.G. de Weever with 22 points. St. Joseph and Ruby Labega tied at 14 points, but because St. Joseph has a better goal differential they place fourth. Although Oranje School has 9 points, Dr. M.L.King placed 5th because Oranje school pulled out of the tournament.
