ANGUILLA--Deputy Governor Perin Bradley has announced that the Repatriation Team continues to make arrangements for Anguillians from the Caribbean region, the UK and the US to return to the island. He said currently a total of 101 persons have been repatriated with 37 in self-quarantine and 64 in government-approved and -monitored quarantine facilities. There are currently no COVID-19 cases pending.
Altogether 478 persons located in 23 countries have registered their interest in returning to Anguilla. Of these, 355 applications have been processed and deemed eligible to return by the Immigration Department
Immediately on arrival, everyone returning is assessed by medical personnel, that includes being tested for COVID-19. Following medical assessment and tests, all returnees go through Immigration and Customs and then proceed to their quarantine location to begin the mandatory quarantine period for a minimum of 14 days. They are being monitored by health professionals and this will include visits and calls to those self-quarantining. At the end of the 14 days a second COVID-19 test will be taken and if clear, the individual will be released from quarantine. All ports in Anguilla remain closed for passenger movements until June 30, with the exception of those qualified for repatriation.
