Formateur for the incoming cabinet Member of Parliament (MP) Theo Heyliger launched www.sxmgovformation.org and Facebook page “Government Formation Sint Maarten” on Wednesday.
The first-ever website focused on information about the government formation. The online portal was created by the governing programme workgroup of coalition partners United Democrats and St. Maarten Christian Party. The formation of a new cabinet with a long period of silence “understandably frustrates many within the community,” said Heyliger as he expressed hope that the website will open doors that were once closed to the public. An electronic copy of the governing programme, once completed, will be downloadable from the website.
