ANGUILLA--Representatives Leslie Abell and Tim Quinton from the European Union (EU) programme Competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME) launched CaribConnect, an online business incubator, in Anguilla, on Wednesday, June 6. Hosted by the Department of Youth and Culture, the event was open to leading educators and entrepreneur support individuals on the island. Anguilla is one of twelve small Caribbean countries included in this programme.
The CaribConnect incubator is an Internet platform designed to empower and connect entrepreneurs and business owners through online information sharing, eliminating the barriers of geographic boundaries. It is free to anyone conducting or wishing to conduct business in the Caribbean, and offers an ideal solution to making and growing business networks through online tools such as templates for business plans, financial plans and educational opportunities. Entrepreneurs using this platform also have access to business mentors and investors beyond the boundaries of Anguilla.
The COSME programme’s overall objective is to contribute to the sustainable economic diversification and prosperity of Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories by improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the participating territories.
