The staff at Windward Islands Bank (WIB) collectively donated food supplies, non-perishable items and bathroom essentials valued at more than US $600; a $100 gift certificate for Sunny Foods and an $80 gift certificate for Penny’s Department Store to a single mother who lost her apartment and job due to Hurricane Irma.
The donation was part of WIB employees' goal to support a family in need during the just-ended holiday season as part of their “good deed” project. For the project, staff contributed towards the purchasing of needed goods. The recipient was chosen for the donation with assistance from Oranje School’s Parent Teachers Association (PTA) President. The initiative was part of WIB’s Employee Volunteer Programme to help residents.
