PHILIPSBURG--Eight members of the St. Maarten Lions Club went to the Philipsburg police station on Monday to present a framed certificate of appreciation to members of law enforcement in recognition of their work in keeping the country safe during the coronavirus COVID-19 crisis.
According to St. Maarten Lions Club President Oralie Boirard, the Lions Club members presented the certificate to the St. Maarten Police Force KPSM, the Royal Dutch Marechaussee KMar and the Royal Dutch Marine Corps on behalf of the St. Maarten Lions Club and both St. Maarten Leo Clubs.
Police Chief Carl John was on hand to receive the certificate. John thanked the club and called all law enforcement personnel on duty at the time to witness the presentation. The law enforcement officers gave the clubs a round of applause.
The clubs also provided refreshments to law enforcement personnel in the form of snack boxes and drinks.
The St. Maarten Lions Club thanked all sponsors and persons who helped make the certificate of appreciation a reality.
