PHILIPSBURG--Minister of Finance Richard Gibson Sr. in answering questions from the media on Wednesday stated that Director of the St. Maarten Tourism Authority (STA) Rolando Brison was not appointed by Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunications Ingrid Arrindell.
Gibson stated that the minister informed the Council of Ministers on Tuesday that she did not appoint him and that a press conference concerning the issue will be held soon by the minister.
The Daily Herald broke the news on Saturday of the appointment by the minister. The Daily Herald published a photo with the accompanying story in which Arrindell is seen signing an agreement with Brison accompanied by Member of Parliament Silvio Matser. The Daily Herald also published a video of the signing on its website.
