USM hosting gender and sexual diversity seminar this Thursday

POND ISLAND--University of St. Martin (USM), the Ministry of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations BAK and UNESCO St. Maarten will host a seminar on Gender and Sexual Diversity in continuation their sustainable development goals (SDGs) seminar series in the USM lecture hall on Thursday, December 12 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Guest speakers will include Nadjesca Gumbs of the St. Maarten/St. Martin Alliance for Equality Foundation SAFE SXM, former Safe Haven Executive Director Cassandra Richardson and human rights activist Lysanne Charles.

Through the seminar, USM, UNESCO St. Maarten and BAK hope to promote and motivate discussion on discrimination, gender identification and security issues in St. Maarten. USM also hopes to strengthen its curriculum and research profile.
