BRIDGETOWN, Barbados--The Ministry of Agriculture donated food hampers to three charities on Wednesday morning as part of its activities to observe World Food Day, which is celebrated on October 16.
The donations were done in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation. The beneficiaries of the food drive were the HIV/AIDS Food Bank, Street Lamp Ministries and the Child Care Board. Deputy Chief Agriculture Officer Barney Callender said there were a number of Barbadians in need and the donation would go a long way to help many families.
The presentation was made at the ministry’s headquarters in Graeme Hall, Christ Church. ~ Barbados TODAY ~
