PHILIPSBURG--Ruby Labega, winners of the Walichi Basketball Association’s Interscholastic Insulair Basketball Championship will be traveling to Curacao today. The team will represent St. Maarten in the Interscholastic Insulair Basketball Competition for the Dutch Caribbean.
The team consist of six students from Ruby Labega Primary School and will be supported by four students from the Sub-Champions St. Joseph School.
They will be coached by Robert Pantophlet and Minerva-Marlin Cooper. Also travelling are representatives of the sports department and Honourable Minister of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports. Silveria Jacobs.
The delegation will return on Sunday, March 13. Heavenly Water sponsored travel shirts, uniforms and sport bottles to stay hydrated during games.
