Brown wins FirstCaribbean Bank Open Youth Tennis Tournament

CAY HILL--Leshawn Brown won the Open division of the 14th annual FirstCaribbean Bank Youth Tennis Tournament at Raoul Illidge Sport Complex Tennis Pavilion over the weekend. Bradley Atyle finished second.


A total of 38 boys and girls competed in several categories of play including Beginners, Under 13, Under 15 and Open Class.
The competition was hosted by LAB Sports Academy and sponsored by First Caribbean Bank.

Beginners
Shade Barry placed first in girls beginners. Jugeldi Garcia was second place. In the boys beginners Leandro Barry placed first, and Pijush Mehershanbani was second.

U 13
Ejanee Shillingford placed first in the girls Under 13 category. Arti Grianchandar was second. Ejomar Shillingford too first place in the boys U-13 and was followed by place Tristan Williams.

U 15
Chantale Hughes won the girls U 15 and the boys category was dominated by James Brooks. Kahile Pierre was second in the boys division.
“Female participation has once again increased,” said Les Brown of LAB Sports. “This is due to an additional after school program that has started. We hope this program continues.”

The next tournament will be the 6th annual Princess Juliana International Airport Youth Tennis Tournament near the end of September.
