MARIGOT—The Dutch-side U18 PSA Spartans trounced their French-side opponents at the weekend to win an exciting basketball tournament.
On Saturday, May 14, the Spartans team participated in the Comitè Territorial de Basketball Iles du Nord (CTBIN) league playoffs. The semi-finals started at 12:30pm against the Phoenicks Club from French Quarter and resulted in PSA winning 63-42.
The Championship game then took place at 6:30pm against the Let’s Do It (LDI) club from Sandy Ground. The game resulted in PSA winning 73-46.

Miguel Gittens #7 - Methodist Agogic Centre High School, 5. Carlon Celestine #8 - Methodist Agogic Centre High School, 6. Rayshawn Emer-Lake #9 – MPC, 7. Kemar Johnson #10 - Charlotte Brookson Academy, 8. Tyrone Washington #11 - St. Maarten Academy, 9. Yuvraj Vaswani #12 - Learning Unlimited,10. Aryan Jhangiani #13 - Learning Unlimited,11. Dylan Antoine #14 - St. Dominic High School, 12. Reuel McRae # 21 - Milton Peters College,13. Jahmari Jones #25 - St. Maarten Academy,14. Kaynyeh Lake #74 - St. Maarten Academy.
Coaches were Omar Beauperthuy and Dajour Boasman. In addition, the CTBIN also highlighted their U13 selection team who came out in 2nd place in the tournament in Martinique. Two players on that team play for PSA notably Te’mar Thomas (Methodist Agogic Centre (elementary) and Joshua Maison (Learning Unlimited).
Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Roldolphe Samuel warmly congratulated the PSA Spartans and coaches on their success.
