The race took place from October 25 to 29 with riders from all over the Caribbean competing for the prestigious title. Carty was riding for Boris Carene’s VCSG/CCD Club. His win on the final stage crowned an exciting week for the fast-maturing and gifted rider from Sandy Ground and his performance drew praise from President of the Territorial Cycling Committee of St. Martin, Eric Hélan, who described it as an “epic triumph.” “Carty demonstrated his mastery of sprinting techniques, his ability to withstand pressure and his incredible endurance. His success at the end of the final stage was greeted by a cheering crowd, which applauded this promising young cyclist from Saint-Martin, said Hélan. “The tour not only highlighted his potential, and his victory in the Best Young Rider category marks another step crucial step in his career. “As cycling in the Caribbean continues to grow in popularity, Jahkim is destined to become a name to watch closely on the international stage, and his outstanding performance in Guadeloupe is undeniable proof of this.” Rolandio Lake Rogers riding for ASCESM finished fourth in the final stage.
